Stanley J. Somer
Mr. Somer is the Managing Partner and founding Member of the firm. He brings over forty years of experience to his role at Somer, Heller & Corwin LLP. Mr. Somer received his undergraduate degree in accounting from Hofstra University and his law degree from New York Law School. Upon graduation from New York Law School, Mr. Somer was invited back as an instructor. He lectured at the law school for several years on legal research, brief writing and oral argument, in addition to working in private practice with various firms and being in house counsel to the Heatherwood Organization.
Jeffrey T. Heller
Mr. Heller is a senior Partner and founding Member of Somer, Heller & Corwin LLP. He joined the predecessor firm of Stanley J. Somer & Associates, P.C. in 1995 and in 2000 the partnership of Somer & Heller LLP was formed. Mr. Heller received his undergraduate degree (cum laude) in finance and international business from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business and his law degree from Brooklyn Law School. During law school Mr. Heller was selected as a law clerk to the Hon. Cornelius Blackshear, United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Southern District of New York and also served in a position with the United States Attorney’s office for the Eastern District of New York in the Civil Department, in addition to working for various private firms.
